This is the second issue of fouth volume of AL-MAQĀṢID Journal. Articles are authored/co-authored by authors from different affiliations, different countries. This issue presents a series of insightful articles that address various aspects of Islamic perspectives on current issues, particularly in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. The first article, "Sekatan Pergerakan Berdepan COVID-19 Di Malaysia: Satu Tinjauan Dari Perspektif Islam" (Movement Restrictions in Malaysia During COVID-19: An Islamic Perspective), provides an overview of movement restrictions implemented during the pandemic and examines them from an Islamic viewpoint. The second article, "Fiqh Pandemik: Istintāj Hukum Dari Sejarah Penularan Hawar Al-Ṭāʿūn Dalam Islam Dan Hubungannya Dengan Maqāṣid Syariah" (Pandemic Jurisprudence: Legal Derivation from the History of the Plague of al-Ṭāʿūn in Islam and Its Relation to Maqāṣid Sharīʿah), delves into Islamic jurisprudence related to pandemics, drawing parallels with historical instances and their implications for Maqāṣid Sharīʿah. The third article, "Hibah Melalui Khidmat Sistem Pesanan Ringkas (SMS) Bagi Pesakit COVID-19 Dalam Keadaan Maraḍ Al-Mawt Menurut Perspektif Syarak Dan Perundangan Islam" (Hibah Through SMS Services for COVID-19 Patients in a State of Imminent Death According to Islamic Perspective and Legal Framework), explores the permissibility and implications of sending gifts via SMS to patients nearing death in the context of Islamic law. Lastly, "Konsep Ḥalālan Ṭayyiban Dan Maqāṣid Syariah Dalam Penyembelihan Haiwan: Prosedur Operasi Standard (SOP) Pandemik COVID-19 Di Malaysia" (The Concept of Ḥalālan Ṭayyiban and Maqāṣid Sharīʿah in Animal Slaughter: Standard Operating Procedures for the COVID-19 Pandemic in Malaysia), discusses how the principles of Ḥalālan Ṭayyiban and Maqāṣid Sharīʿah are applied in the slaughter of animals amidst the pandemic, including the development of SOPs to ensure compliance.
