We adhere to the guidelines and best practices outlined by relevant academic bodies, including the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), to ensure the ethical conduct of all parties involved in the publication process.

  1. Authorship and Originality:

    • Authors must ensure that their submitted manuscripts represent original work and have not been published previously or submitted for publication elsewhere.
    • All individuals who have made significant contributions to the research must be listed as authors, and proper acknowledgment of their contributions must be provided.
    • Plagiarism, including the use of verbatim text or ideas from other sources without appropriate citation, is strictly prohibited.
  2. Peer Review Process:

    • The peer review process is conducted objectively and confidentially to ensure the quality and validity of published articles.
    • Reviewers are selected based on their expertise and are required to disclose any potential conflicts of interest before evaluating manuscripts.
    • Reviewers are expected to provide constructive feedback and recommendations to help authors improve the quality of their work.
  3. Conflicts of Interest:

    • Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any conflicts of interest that could potentially influence the publication process or the interpretation of research findings.
    • Conflicts of interest may include financial, professional, or personal relationships that could bias judgment or decision-making.
  4. Data and Image Manipulation:

    • Authors are responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of their research data and images.
    • Data manipulation, fabrication, or falsification is considered unethical and unacceptable.
  5. Corrections and Retractions:

    • The Journal will promptly investigate any allegations of ethical misconduct or publication malpractice.
    • Corrections, retractions, or expressions of concern will be issued if ethical issues or errors are identified in published articles.
  6. Editorial Independence:

    • Editorial decisions are based solely on the quality and merit of the research, without influence from commercial interests or personal biases.
    • Editors will handle manuscripts impartially and transparently, regardless of the authors' affiliations or backgrounds.

AL-MAQĀṢID is committed to promoting responsible conduct in research and publication and to maintaining the trust and confidence of our readers, authors, reviewers, and other stakeholders. We expect all parties involved in the publication process to adhere to these ethical principles and to report any suspected violations promptly.
